Stipulated Agreements

When two parties are able to reach an agreement on a set of issues, and the terms of the agreement can be prepared and set forth within a document to be filed with the court, then the Stipulation will function as the equivalent to the court's orders, as they represent the will and wishes of the parties, which will be honored by the court.

The subject matter and range of issues of a Stipulation may pertain to child custody, child support, spousal support, the allocation of real property, business interests, or even the payment of funds to a party, which represents an equalization or early division of property, depending on the circumstances of the case.

Stipulated agreements are tools that can be utilized in lieu of litigation or going to court, or they can be formulated following litigation when a court date is pending, and both parties are willing to reach an agreement.
